Brent Belzberg is the founder and Senior Managing Partner of TorQuest Partners, which he established in 2002. Prior to founding TorQuest, he created Harrowston Inc. in 1992, a publicly traded investment fund focused on building businesses, which was sold in 2001.
Beyond his role at TorQuest, Brent is a dedicated philanthropist and community leader. He currently serves as a Director of Sinai Health System, where he previously held the position of Chair. Brent is also a member of the Investment Advisory Committee at the University of Toronto. His past directorships include CIBC, O&Y REIT, and Four Seasons Hotels.
In his earlier career, Brent served as President of First City Financial Corporation (1991–1993). His contributions as a business leader and philanthropist were recognized in 2018 when he was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada. In 2023, he was further honored with Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal for his service to Canada and Alberta.
Brent holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen’s University (1972) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto (1975). In 2023, he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Laws (LLD) by Queen’s University.
